Autos were heavy after Trump said he would take tariffs on Canadian cars, trucks and parts to 50% from 1 January 2027. Reuters has that. Tesla does not build cars in Canada the way Detroit does, so don't read that as a Tesla-specific hit. They still did more of the move than the index. No new filing. They just gave back a chunk of Friday.
Cybercab is still 3 September, Austin. Contest window is closed. Five winners are due to be notified Tuesday 25 August US time, later today on this clock. Tesla has not named them yet. That is still the launch event, not a confirmed start of paying public Cybercab rides, and the Robotaxi app is still Model Y only.
Not a Tesla App has Tesla starting to merge the 2026 Summer Update onto FSD cars in Europe, software 2026.27.100.1 with FSD 14.2.2.6 on Hardware 4. Quiet overnight. The story is still Tesla’s Cybercab launch event in Austin on 3 Sep. Teslarati has the invite (https://www.teslarati.com/tesla-cybercab-launch-official-date-austin/ Tesla’s line is “experience the future of full autonomy.” That confirms the event. It does not confirm that paying public riders will be summoning a wheel-less Cybercab on Robotaxi that day. Motor1 recapped the same invite Monday. Reuters, citing The Information unnamed sources, still has Austin employee public-road rides this month, then Robotaxi a few days later. Treat that as unnamed-source, not a date.
The rider sweepstakes closed 11:59pm on 23 Aug US time. Five winners are still due to be notified 25 Aug US. Invitees RSVP by 11:59pm PT on 30 Aug. Attendees must be 21, IDs checked, and plus one cannot be a content creator. Cybercab still is not carrying the public. Nevada is unchanged from the 20 Aug NTA vote: a full AVNC permit for up to 5,000 robotaxis in Clark County over 12 months, not statewide (https://www.teslarati.com/tesla-robotaxi-gets-a-massive-upgrade-in-nevada/ 5,000 is a ceiling; Tesla told the hearing it would be extremely happy at about 2,500. Friday’s pass showed more new Cybercabs in the outbound lot (he called the pace slow but still producing), stop-and-go and lane-change work on the track, and a larger Cybercab grouping than the prior video, some with logos. He also said some units on the lot still had people in them, and a few with steering-wheel kits were leaving on transporters. Separately, 2,975,910 imported and China-made 3/Y/S/X get warning labels plus an OTA that drops the windows after a crash, from 25 September. Populations overlap; do not add them. Labels and software, not a stop-sale.
